Yes, I'm a writer, or at least I aspire to be. I suppose it was just a matter of time (and a couple of nights watching Julie and Julia on TV) before I started a blog. I'm going to be completely honest with you and let you know that I really have no idea what I expect to accomplish with this, I just know that God seems to be putting it on my heart, and in my head, to start this. And who am I to argue? Especially when that feeling of him guiding me can be few and far between some days... or weeks... or months.
I'm at what I consider an interesting stage in my writing career... the point where I'm getting ready to make it just that, a career. It's a place that's infinitely exciting and wildly terrifying all at the same time. I'm soon going to be doing a final edit on my first novel before I start looking for a publisher. Both seem like daunting tasks, so please feel free to send up a little prayer or two on my behalf for guidance, and possibly sanity. (Although if you know my family, the whole sanity thing might be a moot point.)
I write about what I am: a regular girl, in a regular job, looking for laughter, faith and love. That's me, and that's the women that I look up to and respect the most: my friends. I've heard Taylor Swift say that if you listen to her music you know her. (I know, I just quoted Taylor Swift, but stick with me here.) That's exactly how I want my writing to be. If you read my books (you know, assuming I get published someday), then you'll have a better understanding of who I am.
So if you're willing to ride out this whole blog thing with me, I promise I'll be more entertaining in the future. Perhaps I'll even post some of my writing for you to critique for me. I always love feedback. Until then my friends.
<3 Kayla
